Drill To Improve Footwork and Shot Blocking

Welcome to the Goalkeeping Newsletter.  Today’s featured activity works on footwork, movement and shot blocking

There are 3 goals made using cones on different angles.  There is a server 15 yards from each goal and a keeper starts in the middle goal.  Each server has a ball.


The coach starts by calling a number.  The keeper must sprint into position to make the save in that goal.  For example, if the coach calls “1”, the keeper sprints to the 1 goal and makes the save from the server.



The coach then calls the next number and the keeper sprints to that goal and makes the save.  The keeper must always come from the back through the goal so if “3” is called they sprint through the 3 goal

This goes on for 1 minute at full speed and then the next keeper goes
