Rhythmical Crossing and Finishing

By Keith Scarlett

This activity works on crossing and finishing and combination play.

Set-up: The playing area is a half-field.

There are four players at midfield; two in the center with one ball and one each out wide, each with a ball. There is a target striker at the top of the 18 and two target players out wide.

How it Works: The two center players start it off by working any combination they want with the target striker to result in a shot on goal.

Once this is done, the player out wide on one side only combines with their target for a wall-pass resulting in a cross for a finish. The original three players involved in the first combination are now making near, far, slot runs.

Once this is done, the same thing is done on the other side.
