Making the Second Save

Welcome to the goalkeeping Newsletter. Today’s featured activity works on punching and making the second save.

Start with a keeper in goal and 4 players spread around the 18 with balls.

One of the players out wide crosses the ball in and the keeper comes out and punches it away.

The player closest to where the ball was punched takes a touch and then shoots on goal.

The keeper then saves this shot.

The keeper then gets up and punches the next cross and makes the next save.

The keeper would deal with 8 crosses and 8 shots then rest while the next keeper goes.
