Counter Attacking
Part 2: Technical Passing Drill
By Justin Faust
What can make or break a counter-attack is the first pass that is made upon gaining possession. If a player goes lateral or negative, they are simply regaining possession. To make a counter attack effective is either going direct or diagonal. This drill is a simple passing pattern that works on creating a line-breaking pass to a target, but keeps the players active with constant movement. To make the drill even more intense you can require one-touch passing throughout the drill.

I would do about 5 minutes and then simply switch directions with the starting point to work on the left foot.
