Welcome to the Goalkeeping Newsletter. Today’s featured activity works on two fisted punches and then quick recoveries.
Start with a keeper in goal, a server 40 yards out and a second server 25 yards out. Both servers have balls.
The far server starts by lofting a high ball in to come down around the 12 yard spot (if they can’t consistently chip the ball in for this, they can throw it).
The keeper comes out to meet the ball and then punches it (with two fists) to clear the second server.
As soon as the ball is punched the keeper must retreat to prepare for the second ball which will either be shot hard or chipped
The keeper must make the save (either for a low hard shot or using a backward dive to save the chip).
[wpsharely id="821"][/wpsharely]As soon as the second ball is saved, the first server starts again
The first server should vary his serves so the keeper must come out to punch the ball from different angles and the second server should challenge the keeper but make the serve savable.
Have a great day!
