Welcome to the FineSoccer Newsletter. Today’s featured activity shows you how to work on passing a receiving while building in a lot of fitness.
Start with groups of threes. Two players are 20 yards from each other and the third player is in the middle with a ball.
The player in the middle (1) starts by passing to a player on the outside (2) and then sprints around that player.
The player with the ball (2) lays the ball of the runner (1).
The player with the ball (1) then plays a long ball to the opposite player (3) and sprints around him.
The player with the ball (3) then lays the ball off to the runner (1) and this continues.
[wpsharely id="1204"][/wpsharely]Do this for 1 minute then have a new player rotate to the middle and the middle person takes the place of that player on the outside
Do this for 2 sets each without a break so in a 6 minute period, each player is sprinting for 2 minutes and resting for 4 minutes. Emphasize the need for good passes, hard sprints and sharp turns.
You can vary the distance so the players can be 10 yards apart instead of 20 or even go as much as 40 yards apart. It just depends on the type of runs you want.
You can also alter the time period so if you can allocate 12 minutes in a training session to this, each player would go for 2 sets of 2 minutes. 2 minutes at a full sprint will be a nice little workout for anyone and then having to recuperate to do it again makes it that much better
Have a great day!
