This week's exercises are from our latest book, Coaching a Team to a National Championship
This is a basic shooting drill setup that I often altered for angle and distance. Just like the previous heading drill, split into two teams with one team collecting balls and the other team shooting. Play for 4 minutes and change.
Players would run toward the cone, do a fake to the side of the cone and shoot then join the opposite shooting line.
Progressions/Variations
- Try different fakes or moves when attacking the cone
- Attack the cone with a dribble or long touch out of feet
