3 v 3 + 3

This week's exercises are from our book, 'One Setup Training'

Small Sided game: 3 + 3 vs 3

The whole team is divided into two groups of nine players and each group is divided into three teams with bibs of different colours: two outside with possession and one in the center as the first defending team, when the exercise starts.

The ball must be passed from one side to the other, after all the players touched the ball, with a limited time of 10 seconds for each side. The center team must stay in the space between the cones trying to prevent or intercept passes, staying as closes as possible to the ball as defending triangles shape.

The team who is not able to pass after 10 seconds or after losing the ball, becomes a defending team.

Variations:

  • Change available time for passes
  • Change number of needed passes to play to the other side
  • One defender can go out of the center space to put pressure on the possession team

Eye on: Quality of passes and players' movements
