Transition to Attack from the Back

This week's exercises are from our book, 'The Brazilian Box Midfield'

Topic: From Ball Possession in the defensive half to Transition to Attack

8 v 8 – 25 minutes. Group One in ball possession inside of their own defensive field against Group Two. Group One has to maintain ball possession, to keep ball movement safe and precise and find the spaces away from pressure (find the open man).

Every 6 passes completed is a signal for Group One to attack.

Every time Group Two steals the ball, the exercise re-starts from the beginning – ball back to Group One.

  • Level One - Unlimited touches per player
  • Level Two - 3 touches max per player.
  • Level Three - Two touches max per player.
  • Switch Roles every 5 attempts.
  • Unrestricted Game for the last 5 minutes of the session.
