Review of the 4-3-3 v 4-2-3-1 in an EPL Game - Part 2

Part One of this post can be seen here.

After a sublime finish from Jadon Sancho for United in the 21st minute, City come back to score their second through a high press and overload in the six yard box.

This sequence begins with Man United attempting to clear the ball but is stopped and headed back into the final third, falling to Phil Foden.

Lifting the ball over the defenders head, Foden is able to get a shot off, but it is saved by DeGea.

The ball then falls into the path of Silva whose shot is also blocked.

It and then falls to DeBruyne who then buries it in the net.

Created from typical City high pressure, the number of City players quickly in the United box creates chaos for United and Debruyne is able to capitalize.

After scoring a third goal from a well worked corner kick, City are able to produce another display of high pressure, high tempo football with their fourth goal in the 89th minute.

During open play, Ilke Gundogen picks up the ball just beyond the center circle in United’s half after a poor clearance attempt. Traveling with the ball towards the right centerback, drawing the back line to him, Gundogen places a pass that splits the back line and allows Mahrez to run onto the pass and have an uncontested shot on goal.

After a delayed VAR decision for offsides, the goal is awarded, providing another display of how razor thin Manchester City play the high press.
