Passing and Moving Warm-Up

This week's exercises are from our book, 'Training Sessions from Around the World'

Passing Warm-Up: Attacking Behind Defenders

Splitting the squad up into four equal groups, the players conduct a series of passing movements in a 30 x 20-yard area either side of a set a goals. Following each pass, the players move in a clockwise rotation to the next group of players.

Coaching Points

  • The players are encouraged to over hit the passes out in front of the runners to simulate penetrative passes.
  • The receiving players are asked to hold their runs as long as possible and wait before running to get onto the end of the passes.
