Consider these two variations: Firstly, in the diagram above, player A passes to B who plays “round the corner” to the target man T, and then moves to receive a return pass before playing to the outside as before. Once again he is replaced in the middle by A, “the man playing in” to the circle.As the coach how can you help the players?I think there is plenty of information to be conveyed to the whole group.
The weight of each pass to begin with must be appreciated, in some cases it should be soft, as for example the lay off from T to B.
However, when playing to the outside, B to C, the pass should be firmer. Supporting positions are another important area together with the timing of the movement to support the man receiving the ball.
