Beat Opponents in Any Situation With these 1v1s and 2v1s

By Danny Carvalho

Warm Up
Get the players wound up with the one and only Sharks and minnows! Set up a middle zone for the “Shark”, a player without a ball who will be tagging the “minnows”, the other players with a ball each. The minnows’ goal is to get from one side to the other by dribbling the ball without getting caught by the shark.

Activity 1
A) A simple 1v1 where the attacker starts with the ball and tries to score on the mini-goal. If the defender wins the ball, dribbles past the end line
B) With the opponent on his back, player receives a pass and then starts the 1v1
C) Receiving a pass from the side, 1v1 starts to score on the mini-goal
On (B) and (C) you can progress to a 2v1, having the player who passed the ball joining in.

Activity 2
One player comes from the yellow disc cone to score on the goal. Right after the play is over, this former attacker must defend the other goal as the first player on the blue disc cone will start dribbling to score and so on.

Activity 3
On this one the aim is to get the idea of fixating the defender, attracting the opposition to release the teammate and take advantage of it to score.
