Welcome to the Goalkeeping Newsletter. Today’s featured activity is a team warm up that helps the keeper with catching, footwork, and coming forward.
Start with two lines of players 30 yards apart. Each player has a ball. There is a 3 x 3 square in the middle with a keeper.
The keeper is defending the square. He picks one side to start and the first person in that line shoots to try to score.
The keeper makes the save and rolls the ball to the side. The shooter sprints to get the ball and dribbles to the back of the other line
The keeper then turns and sprints through the grid to the other side and does the same thing
[wpsharely id="821"][/wpsharely]If you start with 2-3 players in each line the field players will get a lot of touches of the ball between serving the ball in and then receiving the ball and dribbling while the keeper works on catching, footwork and coming forward to meet the ball.
Have a great day!
