Drills to Improve Quick Reactions

By Danny Carvalho,

Goalkeepers have always been demanded to react as quickly as possible to goal attempts. With the evolution of ball technology, the modern arenas and the growth of the game, GKs have been stimulated more than ever to work on their quick reactions at practice. And this drill is all about that!

GK starts positioned sideways at the goal line.

At the coach’s command, they must quickly turn to face the ball and stop it from going in!

For the next shot, GK starts sideways, facing the other side now.

Each GK must perform six reps in a row before having a break. Have them go for four to six sets.
